Croatian police seize 70kg of marijuana

ZAGREB, Croatia -- Police announced on Saturday (August 23rd) the arrests of ten people suspected of smuggling a huge amount of marijuana from Montenegro to Croatia. Montenegrin media reported that around police confiscated 70kg of marijuana as part of the operation, dubbed Vinil. Courts convicted eight more people connection with the case. Police believe that this is a well-organised crime group that has trafficked at least one tonne of marijuana into Dubrovnik, Split and Zagreb since April. Authorities suspect traffickers purchased the drugs in Montenegro and transported them through Bosnia and Herzegovina to reach Croatian and Western European markets.
